About Holy Family Home Educators

Holy Family Home Educators (HFHE) offer Parent Support Meetings for Catholic homeschoolers, which are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 P.M. They alternate between St Francis of Assisi, Clare Hall basement on the odd numbered months and St Thomas Aquinas, Fr. Allen Hall in the even months (east=even). Both sites have nurseries, with babysitters from our group to provide a free service to those parents who would be unable to come because of lack of childcare. We begin with introductions, then a short discussion of any new items, followed by a presentation of some kind. These have included:

History Links presentation
Praying the rosary for our members and our intentions

Beauty of the Latin Mass

Marriage For Keeps program presentation
Various topics of discussion/sharing

After the “presentation” portion, we have time to eat snacks and share with one another. This is a vital part of participating in our group.

Holy Family Home Educators also sponsors a “Back to School Party” each August, in lieu of that monthly meeting. It’s an opportunity for families to come together and socialize and sign up for activities for the year. Instead of the December meeting, our families go to the Catholic Care Center and sing Christmas carols and distributes hand-made cards to the residents. For the May meeting, we offer it as a used “book” sale. Families bring their school-related and parenting related materials to sell to others in our group. We have meetings year round.
